Bobby was on to something. He was original OG of the ZFG lifestyle, and while he might have made a few bad choices here and there, I still commend him for saying it like it is. He generally did not give a flying fuck. That’s courageous, that says something. That’s doing something. It’s not being a weenie little bitch ass. It’s standing up for what you believe, and not falling frail to the stupid powers that be. I’m spewing some serious shit right now. It’s my Prerogative.

I can’t get enough of this song. The big band feel, the subtle lyrics, the overall good vibes– all of it makes me smile. It also makes me want to jump out there and travel. I need to go somewhere foreign. The feeling of being somewhere strange is something I feign for and need in my life.

It’s hard to believe its over. Already? Finally? My emotions are mixed. For the past 30 days, I sought to do something different, something out of the ordinary, something new, something I felt to be #Awesome. This year, living in a new place, with new friends, there were seemingly endless opportunities to get out of my comfort zone and get awesome. On the last day of Awesome, I rode bikes with my friend Gavin to a babbling brook and reflected on the past 30 days of Awesome. I picked a flower with 30 petals and plucked off one by one to remember each day and the adventure I embarked upon. There were highs, there were lows, there were plenty of things I would do differently.. With all petals plucked, I threw the flower into the river and was thankful for all the Awesome experiences.
Then I looked through all the other #30daysofawesome tags and was inspired to continue this awesome train– to keep moving, to get out of my comfort zone and do something unique. Perhaps I won’t blog about it each day, or clog the feed with hiking pictures, but I’m committed to being awesome, all year long.
Congrats to all who participated in Awesome. It was really and truly super cool to see how many people caught the Awesome Fire and did things out of their comfort zone.
A huge congrats and thanks to Ms. Leslie Betts for being the original Awesome Girl and keeping the spirit of adventure alive. Can’t wait to be apart of things next year!
Until then, check out all things awesome here: 30daysofawesome
